Ferrari is formally getting on board with the Vision Gran Turismo fad with its own special fictitious vehicle.The rear end, particularly the wing and diffuser, is derived from the recently introduced 499P, illustrating that the design does not solely draw inspiration from the past for the future.The VGT was designed by Ferrari with vented wheel arches and a newly patented aerodynamic system that uses two side channels to direct front airflow over the side pods and around the cockpit.

The same twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine that powers the 296 GTB / GTS, GT3, and 499P race cars serves as motivation.The engineers had complete freedom to push the 120-degree V6 to new heights because they didn’t have to follow any rules.At 5,500 rpm, it generates 900 Newton meters (664 pound-feet) of torque and a whopping 1,030 horsepower.

The ICE has three electric motors that are connected to an eight-speed, dual-clutch gearbox borrowed from Formula 1. One of the motors is mounted at the rear, and the other two power the front wheels.In a concept vehicle with a combined torque of 1,100 Nm (809 lb-ft) at the rear alone, the hybrid component of the powertrain is capable of producing an additional 326 horsepower (240 kW).The Ferrari VGT weighs just 1,250 kilograms (2,756 pounds) dry, which is distributed 43.5 percent front and 56.5 percent rear, despite having a complex powertrain.

According to Ferrari’s calculations, the Vision Gran Turismo can go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than two seconds and from 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in less than five seconds.The GT7-specific race car has a top speed of over 217 mph (350 km/h).The renowned Italian manufacturer has even published a hypothetical lap time of less than 1 minute and 10 seconds around its Fiorano track.

Ferrari VGT, which was revealed today at the Gran Turismo World Finals in Monte Carlo, will appear in Gran Turismo 7 on December 23.However, a game-internal viewers’ campaign quiz already features the fictional race car.By receiving the virtual keys on December 15, the winner will gain early access to the race car.
