Latest Update: 2024 Cadillac Lyriq has been announced, with a starting price of $58,590.

The luxury electric SUV from Cadillac enters its second year with a significantly expanded model lineup. The base model of the 2024 Lyriq is now called Tech, the midrange trim is called Luxury, and the top-of-the-line Sport trim is new.

Cosmetics and creature comforts appear to be the primary distinctions between trim levels. The base trim has the same standard safety features as the upper trims, but upgrading to the Luxury trim gives you access to features like illuminated exterior door handles, rain-sensing wipers, choreographed exterior lighting, and more. Blacked-out chrome trim on the windows, body moldings, and front and rear fascias distinguish the Sport trim visually. The standard 20-inch alloy wheels are also available as an option on the Luxury and Sport trims.

Eight new exterior paint colors gave us our first look at the Lyriq in a color other than silver. Only a black two-tone interior color scheme is available for the base trim, but there are four interior color options for both upper trims.

It’s interesting to note that Cadillac decreased the Lyriq’s estimated range from 312 miles for the rear-wheel drive model to 308 miles for the RWD model and 307 miles for the AWD model. A rear-drive 2023 model passed our standard EV highway range test with a 270-mile range at 75 mph.

The single-motor, rear-drive model still produces 340 horsepower, while the dual-motor AWD model produces 500 horsepower. Although we haven’t yet driven a dual-motor Lyriq, we were able to accelerate a model with rear-wheel drive to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. That is fairly quick for an SUV, but it is a little behind the current generation of EV dragsters.
