$33,000.00

Latest Update: 2025 Dodge Charger is coming in 2024, with an expected price of $33,000.

The future of muscle cars veils itself in mystery, particularly when it concerns the fate of the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Charger/Challenger, with the former remaining more enigmatic than the latter. General Motors has made the pledge to resurrect the Camaro moniker, yet the specifics of its return, its form, and the timing of its revival remain undisclosed. Meanwhile, Stellantis diligently labors on crafting its forthcoming challenger to the Ford Mustang.

In the realm of familiar exterior design, there’s speculation that the Challenger name might be abandoned, leaving Dodge to embrace the Charger moniker for its upcoming muscle car. A sneak peek of the model was unveiled in a Christmas advertisement just before the winter holidays, bearing a striking resemblance to the Charger Daytona SRT Concept, albeit with a few tweaks.

The revamped front bumper boasts round headlamps and a more substantial air intake, while angular lines grace the profile, maintaining an aggressive hood. The greenhouse retains its familiar look with a rakish windshield. Interestingly, glimpses of an empty shell in the factory from a couple of months ago showcased a silhouette akin to the one depicted in recent pictures, unveiling more than just the exterior.

Initial assumptions leaned towards Dodge’s new Charger being exclusively battery-electric. However, recent images have exposed a transmission tunnel, hinting at the inclusion of gasoline-fed powertrains. Reports suggest at least two versions of the Hurricane straight-six engine, with the entry-level model anticipated to wield 420 horsepower and a higher output variant boasting a reported 510 horses. While these figures may not be groundbreaking in today’s automotive landscape, they could merely signal the start, with potential for more potent iterations in the future.

Contrary to initial expectations, rumors hint at the preservation of the manual transmission, offering enthusiasts the joy of shifting gears manually in certain versions of the upcoming Charger. Furthermore, a sophisticated exhaust system promises to replicate the distinctive noise produced by the Hellcat models, ensuring an auditory experience that complements the driving performance.

Turning attention to the electric lineup, it is rumored to adopt a 400-volt architecture. The base configuration might feature a rear-mounted motor generating over 400 horsepower, exclusively driving the rear wheels. Another option is reportedly in the works, incorporating a front motor for a combined output of approximately 670 horsepower. The flagship Banshee, equipped with 800V technology, is speculated to deliver a staggering 885 horsepower.

Platform-wise, Stellantis is said to have employed the STLA Large platform, previously introduced with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Maserati Grecale, and GranTurismo also share this platform. Electric vehicles built on this foundation purportedly offer up to 500 miles of range in optimal conditions, although real-world performance may vary, even in the most fuel-efficient version of the car.

As for the eagerly awaited launch date, Stellantis has confirmed that the new muscle car is slated for release in late 2024, making it a 2025 model year. Anticipated to hit the market at around $50,000, it’s uncertain whether this price point will apply to internal combustion-powered cars, electric variants, or both.
