Latest Update: Ford may introduce Mustang Mach E in Limo and Hearse variants for 2024
The Mustang has been a well-known name in the sports car industry since its introduction by Ford in 1965. However, the company caused surprise when they revealed the Mach-E, an electric SUV, under the Mustang name in late 2019. Now, UK-based Coleman Milne is taking this more practical vehicle in a different direction by creating limousine and hearse versions.
Both the Limousine and Hearse versions of the Mustang Mach-E rely on the 75.7-kWh battery pack with a usable capacity of 68 kWh, and have an estimated driving range of up to 200 miles (322 kilometers) on a single charge. This range is lower than the official WLTP rating of 273 miles (440 kilometers) for the standard SUV, but this is understandable as the Limousine and Hearse versions are heavier. However, the reduced range should not be a major concern, as these vehicles are typically used for shorter trips.
The six-door limousine version of the Mustang Mach-E is stretched to a substantial length of 6,279 millimeters (247.2 inches) and is 114 millimeters (4.48 inches) taller than the standard Mustang Mach-E. Additional features that may be available include full privacy glass, a Perspex driver division screen and the option to lower the glass windows of the middle doors. The limousine is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers, including the driver.
The hearse version of the Mustang Mach-E features three full-size bearer seats, a flat, full-length deck, and a large glass roof for personal tributes. Optional features include an electrically operated liftgate, a slide-out under-draw deck, illuminated signage, and a full-size sliding deck. The hearse has been specifically designed to accommodate these features at an additional cost.
The Limousine and Hearse versions of the Mustang Mach-E are part of Coleman Milne’s Etive range and are being engineered in both left- and right-hand-drive configurations. The duo will undergo road testing to cover 40,000 miles (nearly 65,000 kilometers) in the coming months. Coleman Milne has been manufacturing hearses for over 60 years and also offers ceremonial vehicles based on the Tesla Model S (known as the Wisper Hearse) and a plug-in hybrid Mercedes E-Class.
