Today is a momentous occasion as Lamborghini unveils their new flagship supercar, the Revuelto, marking the end of the Aventador’s 10-year reign. Lamborghini hails the Revuelto as the “near future” of high-performance motoring, packed with state-of-the-art technology. Despite the advanced features, petrolheads need not fret, as the classic V12 Lambo still reigns supreme.
Let’s dive into the juicy details that we’ve already been teased with. The new 6.5-liter V12 engine is boosted by three electric motors, producing a combined 1,001 hp. An all-electric mode is available, one of thirteen different configurations when considering drive, battery, and regenerative settings. The Revuelto’s monocoque chassis features the first fully carbon-fiber front structure in Lamborghini’s history. The supercar can go from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds, and 124 mph in under 7 seconds, with a top speed of over 217 mph.
Now, onto something that has yet to be revealed – the body. Inside, the Y motif is present, but the three digital screens steal the show. The driver has a 12.3-inch digital readout and an 8.4-inch portrait screen in the middle, while the passenger gets a narrow 9.1-inch screen that also displays essential vehicle information. All three displays can be swiped to share information, with Lamborghini emphasizing the passenger’s role as a co-pilot. With seven drive settings and various sub-functions, there are 13 modes to choose from.
The Revuelto’s powertrain is a work of art, featuring a brand new 6.5-liter V12 engine that is lighter and more powerful than its predecessor. It generates 813 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 535 pound-feet of torque without the need for turbochargers. Two electric motors power the front wheels, and a third motor is mounted within the new eight-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox, a first for Lamborghini. The gearbox is mounted transversely behind the engine, leaving room for the 3.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack in what used to be the transmission tunnel.
The Revuelto is a supercar like no other, pushing the boundaries of high-performance motoring. Lamborghini has once again outdone themselves, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next.
