Despite the digital upgrade, the vehicle still includes a variety of physical buttons for controlling the stereo, climate controls, seat positioning, and a large shift stalk in the center console.

Upon first glance, the new Crosstrek may appear to be a mere facelift of the model released in Japan last year. However, closer inspection reveals subtle yet striking updates to its design. The rugged, adventurous aesthetic is still present, with bold wheel arches and sturdy plastic trim. The rear fascia boasts sharp, asymmetrical lines and more plastic accents, while the front boasts a larger grille and larger driving lamps. Despite the new design elements, the dimensions remain similar, with the new model being only a half-inch longer.

In Japan, the Crosstrek is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat four-cylinder engine that generates 145 horsepower, paired with a 13-hp electric motor. The Japanese Crosstrek also offers front-wheel drive as an option.
