Latest Update: 2024 Tesla Model 2 to have a price tag of $25,000, launch delays till 2024.

Tesla, which is owned by Elon Musk, was previously said to be working on a Model 2 car that would cost $25,000. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, confirmed the development of a $25,000 electric vehicle at the company’s 2020 Battery Day.

Electrek, on the other hand, says in a report that the company isn’t working on its $25,000 electric car right now. Elon Musk, the CEO of the company, is quoted in the report as saying that Tesla is not working on the vehicle right now.

The same is supported by a second Teslarati report. Loup Ventures’ TSLA analysts make the prediction in the report that the Model 2 will be released in 2024.

In its 2022 Predictions letter, Loup Ventures stated, “Tesla will wait until 2024 to announce Model 2.” It states that the company runs the risk of slowing Model 3 sales and increasing capacity during what is likely to be a broader auto recession if it announces the lower-priced vehicle too early.

The report says that Tesla’s Model 2 preview could be out in the beginning of 2024, and production could start in the middle of 2025. Additionally, the report suggests that the Model 2 may be a subcompact or compact vehicle.

In the meantime, Tesla has also announced special offers for customers who purchase its vehicles. If they buy a Model 3 sedan or a Model Y sport utility vehicle by February 28, the company will give them up to 1,450 yuan ($10,000). The automaker is also continuing to offer a subsidy of 6,000 yuan, which it began offering at the beginning of December. The second subsidy, which is 4,000 yuan and is tied to purchasing insurance through Tesla, was first made available in November. These offers, according to Bloomberg News, are intended to increase sales in China.
